Love off the field...

The Houston Texans’ defensive end, J.J. Watt is ready to tie the knot with the Houston Dash’s team captain, Kealia Ohai. Watt announced the engagement on Memorial Day weekend via social media, by posting photos of the proposal with the caption “I’m the luckiest man in the world. #SheSaidYes.," Ohai later posted similar photos of the engagement, including one of Watt on bended knee, with the caption “Still can’t believe I get to be with you forever. I love you @jjwatt”

The beginning...

The couple began dating three years ago, after being introduced by Ohai’s sister, Megan, who is married to Watt’s teammate and fellow Houston Texans’ player, Brian Cushing.

The Bride to be...

Before her engagement to Watt, Ohai was perhaps best known for her contribution on the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) in 2016. The US rivaled Switzerland and Ohai made her mark when she scored a goal within the first 48 seconds of the game. This was the fastest goal scored in Women’s National Team history!

The Groom to be...

Watt has made similar achievements in his professional career. He was named NFL Defensive player of the year three times. This award came as no surprise because of his big heart displayed off the field. Watt helped raise over $37 million to help those who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. “Watt” a hero!

The pair share a passion for their respective sports and of course, for each other. “We’re very competitive,” Watt explained during an interview in 2017. “Very, very competitive and we like to workout together. She’s much faster than me, I’m slightly stronger. We have a lot of fun together,” he added. The duo managed to keep their romance a secret for over a year, however, once they went public with their relationship, their love overflowed their social media pages ever since.
